How I get or Update Smart Image?

This article will guide you through the steps to get or update smart image in Dentrix.

Video Tutorial: 

When new diagnostic images are acquired, Smart Image automatically associates them with the correct CDT codes for accurate billing, and displays them in the patient chart. Now the patient’s 2D and 3D images can be accessed without leaving Dentrix. 

Installation

If you do not have Smart Image installed, HS1 Support will assist in installing on each computer. 

Upgrading

The latest version of Smart Image is required for full functionality and features.

Enabling

Smart Image Panel tab must be visible in Dentrix to view AI detections. To enable

If Smart Image is not visible, Smart Image is not installed. Contact HS1 Support to install

Rotated Images

Being that the office is using Dexis, one of the things we want to encourage is a bit of a workflow change.  The issue specifically is a limitation of Dexis' design.  When taking images for a template in Dexis, the images will appear with the correct orientation in Dexis. However, the rotation change does not immediately get saved to the underlying image files, which happens when Dexis is closed.  So I would encourage the office, after they have finished capturing images inside of Dexis, to first close out of Dexis before returning to the Dentrix chart.  After the progress bar finishes when closing Dexis, the rotation information should be saved into the image files, so that when Smart Image goes to load the images for the first time after acquisition, they will display with the correct orientation.
